What New for 2023?

Only minor changes are made to the Ford Expedition this year. There's a new color option for the Platinum trim called Iconic Silver, and the Timberline Special Edition models receive black-painted fog lamp bezels and a black onyx interior color. The Timberline also comes standard with a Trail 1 Pedal Drive feature.

Performance

Four engine options are available for the Ford Expedition, the base of which is a turbocharged 3.5-liter 375 horsepower V6 attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission and paired with rear- or four-wheel drive. The other options include a 400 hp V6, an upgraded 440 hp V6, and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo 440 hp V6 engine.

In terms of fuel economy, the EPA estimates that the Expedition gets around 17/23 mpg. With all-wheel drive equipped, this number dips to 16 mpg in the city and highway.

Interior/Exterior

The Expedition's cabin gets even more, fancier with each increasing trim. Topping out on the Platinum trim, drivers will find rich leather upholstery and massaging front seats. King Ranch

The King Ranch is loaded with features, many of which are specific to this trim. These features include 22-inch wheels, power-deployable running boards, special leather upholstery, a 15.5-inch touchscreen, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, and a surround-view camera system.

Platinum

The Platinum trim has the same upgrades as the King Ranch. Though this model has unique amenities such as an adaptive suspension, wood and leather interior trim, massaging front seats, roof rails with crossbars, and a semi-automated driving system called BlueCruise.
